VETERINARY TECHNICIAN NEEDED AS INSTRUCTOR FOR VETERINARY ASSISTANT PROGRAM- NO TEACHING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - BOTH WEEKDAYS AND WEEKNIGHTS AVAILABLE

Job Summary

Veterinary Assistant Instructors use their training and practical experience from clinical and/or administrative duties to teach Ross Veterinary Assistant students what they need to succeed in the veterinary field.

What are the main activities of this job? Primary Instructors teach in the Veterinary Assisting classroom a maximum of 12 students, covering clinical skills and administrative skills. The veterinary assistant classroom is "hands-on" with small animals in the lab, and sometimes field trips. Class sessions are 6 hours, week days only. Training and support provided in delivering standardized curriculum. This is a part-time position, typically 24-29 hours per week, day and evening schedules available.

Job Duties and Responsibilities Classroom Instruction, Outside of Class Preparation, Meetings and Continuing Education

Transferable skills Veterinary Technician, Degree with past Veterinary Assistant experience and current Vet Tech experience, Veterinarian. We welcome graduates from community colleges, Baker, Michigan State, as well as Veterans from any Branch.

Work Environment Clean and bright classrooms with computer/desk and clinical areas, including "doctor's office". Interact with other instructors and campus staff to assist students.

Requirements
3+ years' experience as a Veterinary Technician and formal training from an AVMA accredited institution. Must have passed the National Exam (VTNE). State of MI License required, but not prior to hire.No prior teaching experience required, but you must be comfortable prepping for lecture and delivering information to the class verbally and with traditional teaching tools.
