We were over-zealous with our farm store chick purchases this spring and then had farm chicks hatch, and have twice the flock we would like. Of 32 birds we are getting about ten eggs a day. So I have no clue if who you are buying is actually laying or not. We don’t supplement lighting. We also have two Guinea hens that disappear to lay somewhere in the woods, lol.
The last photo is our farm journal of the breeds we got at the store.
The ducks are not for sale. Chickens and guineas are for sale for $10 each.
Everyone is free range and can be seen all over, including an acre down the pasture. They are fed organic feed from Michiana Feed in Constantine. They have access to oyster shell and their own baked, crushed egg shells.
Hens, layers, brown eggs, pullets, chickens, chicks
