I have for sale or trade one vintage (1984) Heath Company Hero Jr. robot. We have been the original owners since 1984 when it was brought home by my Father as a test product that was used in conventions at production shows for Heath Company.
The robot has a great deal of sentimental value to us but the fact is that we cannot give it the attention and service it deserves. I bought brand new batteries for it and plugged them in and it came right to life !! Just as I remember when I was a young kid. All the facial sensors work during the initial set up after getting power for the first time, but the drive motor has an error when it self tests. It does drive backwards, but not forward and the drive wheel does steer ! It’s pretty neat !
It comes with the brand new batteries (4) and the remote control, 2 cartridges, and some miscellaneous parts.
I don’t have time or resources to complete it but if you did it would be 100% functioning and worth quite a bit of money because it is in really great shape ! A few of the LED lights on the top are pressed in but can be easily fixed.
I’m hoping that it goes to a really good home with someone who can do what it needs to become 100%. Please don’t respond if you can’t solder or program computers. There are YouTube videos showing what others have done to retrofit theirs.
With this being said if you look at EBay these go for about $1,000 in the same condition, and I figure if you can put up that kind of money you are serious enough about responsibly owning it.
I’m open for suggestions on trades , I would take a few things in trade such as a brand new Traxxas Xmaxx sealed in the box, a high end Fender America Pbass bass guitar, a Wilcox Lightwave Sabre bass guitar, or a Yamaha ATV or Motorcycle. Any questions please feel free to ask, we will meet in a public area to make transactions and no personal information will be shared
